Shemar Turner took to social media on Sunday morning to apologize for his actions during the Ole Miss-Texas A&M game on Saturday.

The Aggies’ star defender was ejected in the 3rd quarter for punching Micah Pettus in the groin. The Aggies would go on to lose the game 38-35 and fall to 5-4 overall.

Turner said he “wanted to apologize for embarrassing myself, my family, and my team.”

Turner also added that he has to “understand what teams are gonna try to do to get me out my game,” and he can’t let his emotions get the best of him. Before being ejected, Turner collected 3 tackles.

The Aggie defense allowed the Rebels to score 38 points, which is the 2nd-highest point total allowed by the team this season. It is unclear if Turner will face any further discipline from the incident.

The 5-win Aggies will wrap the season up with games against Mississippi State, Abilene Christian, and LSU.
