The BCS was used to determined the participants of the major bowls from 1998 until 2013. During that span, Alabama won the most national titles (3) and the SEC led all conferences in national titles (9). Ohio State also had a prolific run with 6 wins in 10 BCS appearances.
In the final BCS national title game, Florida State edged Auburn 34-31.
For the Week 9 slate, Georgia takes on rival Florida, Ohio State travels to Wisconsin, and Florida State plays at Wake Forest, with Michigan on a bye week.
