Skill or scheme video: How LSU’s Brandon Harris beat Alabama’s corner blitz

LSU didn’t have a lot of highlights against Alabama, but we found one in the film room:

Brandon Harris beat a corner blitz and delivered a perfect ball to a streaking Travin Dural for the Tigers’ first touchdown in a 30-16 loss.

As soon as Alabama’s Cyrus Jones blitzed, Harris knew Dural would be matched up one-on-one with safety Geno Matias-Smith. (Harris also had his tight end wide open on the wheel route.)

The 40-yard touchdown throw was beautiful, but the best part was how Harris stood in the pocket knowing he was going to get rocked.

A lot of quarterbacks, especially young quarterbacks, would have tried to scramble away from that and missed an opportunity to make a big play.

Alabama’s blitz was a risk-reward situation.

Give Harris all of the credit for making the Tide pay with an ultimate skill play.
