Social media reacts to Georgia’s ranking in 1st College Football Playoff Top 25 of the year

The first College Football Playoff Top 25 of 2020 was unveiled on Monday, and Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson and Ohio State made the top 4.
But some eyebrows were raised over where another team was placed: Georgia, who was slotted at No. 9 in the initial rankings.
The play of JT Daniels on Saturday against Mississippi State could be the source of some optimism for fans moving forward, but the Bulldogs’ losses to both Alabama and Florida (ranked No. 6 in the CFP Top 25) didn’t help their cause, and they will need a number things to fall its way if it is to have any shot at a berth. Their most realistic path at this point is a New Year’s 6 bowl appearance.
Of course, social media had plenty of reaction to the Dawgs’ ranking this week, and the consensus seems to be that they received a much higher ranking than they deserved:
If Georgia is the No. 9 team in the country, I’m not losing my hair.

Georgia gets stomped twice… Beats a Miss State team by single digits with less than 50 scholarship players, but yeah #9.

Indiana nearly wins at Ohio State, and is No.12. Georgia gets its ass kicked twice, and is No.9.

Georgia at #9 is the most laughable ranking in the history of rankings. They are simply not that good.

Georgia at #9???
You have got to be kidding me

@CFBPlayoff Georgia at 9… guess the SEC bias is alive and well. That team is not any good at all. BYU ultimate disrespect. I’m a Buckeye fan and I get it, we haven’t played enough games but Ohio State should still 100% be ranked above Clemson. ?♂️

Georgia at 9 is disgusting

WOW these rankings are bad. Cincinnati only at #7? Georgia at #9? Coastal Carolina all the way down at #20? BYU not even in the top 10? Iowa ranked with a 3-2 record? Yeah…this is a joke. Embarrassing rankings. #CFP
