South Carolina transfer guard Ebrima Dibba is set to miss the 2022-23 season after suffering an injury to his Achilles, as was reported by David Cloninger of The Post and Courier. Dibba, who transferred over from Coastal Carolina, has already had surgery and has started rehab.

The redshirt junior from Stockholm, Sweden, played in 32 games with 31 starts last year and was named to the 2022 Basketball Classic All-Tournament Team. Last season, Dibba averaged 8.1 points per game, while shooting 45.9% from the field, 35.5% on his 3-point attempts, and 80.2% at the free throw line. He also averaged 4.8 rebounds per game and led both the team and the Sun Belt Conference with 173 assists. He led the conference in assists per game with 5.5 as well.

Dibba is expected to be a steady contributor once he is healthy and can return back to the court after this setback.
