South Carolina won’t have to travel far to play in its bowl game. Neither will its opponent.
The Duke’s Mayo Bowl will feature the Gamecocks and North Carolina, per a report by Bret McMurphy of Action Network. The game will be held in Charlotte on Dec. 31 at 11:30 am EST.
Many didn’t think South Carolina would be bowl eligible after Shane Beamer took the head coaching job following the 2020 season. It was Beamer’s first head coaching job so there were plenty of questions. However, Beamer performed admirably. South Carolina finished the season with a 6-6 record and was 3-5 in the SEC.

North Carolina finished the season with a 6-6 record and were 3-5 in the ACC.
