Emory Floyd will reportedly look to continue his college football career elsewhere after 3 seasons as a cornerback at South Carolina.
Hayes Fawcett of On3 shared the news Monday that Floyd plans to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal. The spring window for undergraduate entry into the portal opens on Wednesday. The Gamecocks are set to hold their spring game on Friday, which Floyd promoted on social media just last week.

Floyd, listed at 6-1 and 193 pounds, has appeared in just 7 games over 3 seasons playing for Shane Beamer. Floyd’s South Carolina bio notes his excellent speed and his time on the Gamecock track team as a short sprinter. He was expected to challenge for playing time, and will now try to do that elsewhere.
In 2022, Floyd made just 2 appearances and took a redshirt. As a redshirt freshman in 2023, Floyd made 3 appearances, recording 2 tackles and 1 pass breakup, the first defensive statistics of his career.
Last season, Floyd was sidelined by a hamstring injury. He played in games against Akron and Ole Miss but did not post any defensive statistics.
