South Carolina debuted a new entrance for the home opener on Saturday.

The Gamecocks are famous for the “2001” entrance in which Cocky appeared out of a black box. Instead of a box, Cocky will now appear on the field by driving a locomotive adorned with the South Carolina logo.

Cocky drove the train to the 25-yard line before a jump off and run through the Carolina band’s path into the tunnel.

The garnet-colored train is driven by Cocky, who is flanked by members of the cheer squad. The same pyrotechnics and smoke display from the “2001” entrance were still featured, just with Cocky rising and standing atop the Cockaboose.

Celebrity starter Connor Shaw stepped out of the locomotive and led the crowd in the “Game! Cocks!” chant.

The Gamecocks are hosting the in-state Furman Paladins in the home opener. South Carolina is looking to bounce back after being dismantled by the North Carolina Tar Heels in Week 1.
