Clemson and South Carolina cooperating on a football field?

We saw it this season.

The two bands came together for a halftime performance labeled “SC Strong,” playing in memory of the Emanuel 9 and in honor of the SC flooding victims.

According to NCAA.com, this performance was one of the best halftime shows in college football this year:

“Clemson-South Carolina is obviously a huge rivalry, but in the wake of the destructive flooding the state of South Carolina endured in October, the bands came together for this awesome show of unity,” NCAA.com wrote.

The website recognized just five performances in all, including a Star Wars melody by the USC Trojans, Southern’s “Human Jukebox,” Michigan with the New York Philharmonic and Ohio State’s circus-based performance.

In the midst of so much negativity, the “SC Strong” performance was a good reminder of why many of us fell in love with sports. The crowd response is easy to understand even on video.
