Coming off a 3-9 season, the South Carolina Gamecocks are trying to build excitement for the 2016 campaign.

Steve Spurrier is gone — in his place is Will Muschamp. Muschamp faces his fair share of challenges heading into his first season as the Gamecocks’ head coach, but it appears he’ll have plenty of fans cheering on his team to start the year.

According to The State, season ticket sales are pretty close to what they were at this time last year. In 2015, 5,110 total season tickets were sold. Already this offseason, that number is up to 49,070.

Season ticket holders will have to wait to see the Gamecocks in action in 2016. South Carolina’s first two games are on the road at Vanderbilt and Mississippi State.

The first home game for Muschamp’s crew is against East Carolina on Sept. 17. The Gamecock’s first SEC home game is Oct. 1 against Texas A&M.
