South Carolina is having some fun with its most recent victory after the Gamecocks took down the Oklahoma Sooners 35-9 in what was expected to be a much closer game.

One of their biggest accomplishments in the victory was recording 9 sacks on Oklahoma quarterbacks Michael Hawkins Jr. and Jackson Arnold. That is the most the Sooners have ever given up in team history, reaching a new low in that particular category in the midst of what has been quite a tough year for them as new members of the Southeastern Conference.

The Gamecocks’ social media team chose to rub it in their face, posting a graphic with text on it that read “Never before has Oklahoma given up 9 sacks in a game” with a photo of the quarterback highlighted while being taken down by a Gamecocks defender.

Here’s a look at the post:

Shane Beamer’s team has had its ups and down throughout the season, but they’ve earned plenty of respect for being far better than they were slated to be ahead of the season.

They’ve had trouble finishing out some games, but really threatened Alabama last week with a loss by only a couple of points and they also immediately garnered attention when they recorded a lopsided win over Kentucky, 31-6, to open the SEC season.

How they continue to build on that down the stretch will be something to watch.
