South Carolina Spur Larenz Bryant will miss the rest of spring practice after suffering what’s being described as a “low-grade” liver injury in the Gamecocks’ opening practice on Tuesday, the team announced on Wednesday.
Bryant was carted off the field and taken to the hospital after a big collision with a teammate during practice on Tuesday. He remained in the hospital on Wednesday for observation and is expected to make a full recovery. After practice on Tuesday, co-defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward indicated to reporters he thought Bryant would be okay and that he was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Ward on Larenz Bryant: "He got hit in the stomach, the wind knocked out of him. They wanted to make sure he didn’t tear anything inside."
