Spencer Rattler now has the first regular-season touchdown of his NFL career in the books, starting in the place of an injured Derek Carr against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
It was a 10-yard strike to pass-catcher Bub Means that allowed the Saints to take the lead after trailing 17-13 midway through the second quarter. To make things even more impressive, it was a rooke-to-rookie completion as Means is also playing out his first season in the NFL after being selected by the New Orleans Saints in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Here’s a look at the play:

The Saints currently lead the Bucs, 27-24 at halftime in what has been one of their best performances offensively in a while after they opened the season with a bang on that side of the ball, scoring 91 points in the first two games of the year combined.
Rattler went 11-for-17 passing in the 1st half, totaling 140 passing yards to go with the 1 touchdown. He also carried the ball 3 times for 21 yards.
If he and the Saints can stay on the right track for the final two quarters, they will snap a three-game losing streak with a much-needed win.
