Sports Illustrated’s list of 25 most-intriguing CFB coaches includes 6 from the SEC

With a few weeks left until the start of the college football regular season, Sports Illustrated released a list of the 25 most intriguing college football coaches to watch this year.

The top spot on the list went to newly hired coach Steve Sarkisian from Texas. Before making it to the Longhorns, he was recently on staff at Alabama as the offensive coordinator for the Tide.

Many of the top coaches in college football made the list including 6 coaches from the SEC. The selection had some veterans, as well as some new faces looking to make their mark on the conference. Here’s how the SEC was represented on the list:

• No. 5 — Kirby Smart, Georgia
• No. 9 — Nick Saban, Alabama
• No. 14 — Ed Orgeron, LSU
• No. 18 — Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss
• No. 22 — Bryan Harsin, Auburn
• No. 25 — Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M
