Incoming Mississippi State freshman Jeffery Simmons has made headlines recently for a video surfacing of him striking a woman multiple times. Mississippi State responded with a one-game suspension for Simmons.

According to many, the one-game suspension was nowhere near hard enough of a punishment for the incoming prospect. You can now add WJTV’s TJ Werre as one of those who disagrees with the severity of the punishment.

Werre gives his opinion on the entire situation in a video below, at one point saying, “Not in a million years do I see where the school is coming from.”

Werre says near the end of the video, “At a minimum, he should miss at least a year because playing college football is a privilege. This won’t ruin his life to sit out a year or two because I want to see Simmons succeed (…)”
