Stanford Steve Coughlin remembers waking up on Saturdays to watch College GameDay before all the college football games start. They’re memories he absolutely loves.
Now, he doesn’t have to watch it anymore. He is part of College GameDay, as he is stepping in for Chris Falica who has moved on to Fox.
Coughlin will be contributing as a betting analyst on GameDay, and will be giving his best picks of college football games.
The opportunity to be part of a show he watched growing up has Coughlin very excited.
“I am absolutely jacked up for the opportunity,” Coughlin said on the Always College Football podcast. ” You and I (Greg McElroy), growing up and playing the sport, that’s how you start your Saturday mornings. Racing down to pregame meal, that first meal of the day, let’s get back and lay in bed and watch Herbie (Kirk Herbstreit) and the guys. To be able to be on the set with those guys is just awesome.”
College GameDay will not be going anywhere for Week 0, but there will still be a show in Bristol on Saturday. That will kick off at 10 a.m. ET.
The crew will be in Charlotte for Week 1 to see South Carolina battle North Carolina. Stanford Steve will be ready to roll.
