Arguably the top “free agent” in college basketball is off the board as Reid Travis has announced his commitment to Kentucky.
The former standout Stanford player made his decision public with a Twitter video on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-8, 245-pound forward ranked third in the Pac-12 in scoring (19.5 ppg) and rebounding (8.7 rpg) last season. He also finished in the top five in the league in both categories in 2016-17. A four-year player for Stanford, Travis declared for the NBA Draft without hiring an agent back in April. A two-time All-Pac 12 selection, Travis missed the vast majority of the 2015-16 season and was given a medical hardship waiver by the NCAA.
Here’s the video Travis posted announcing his commitment:
I want to thank everyone who has helped me with this process of taking the next step to pursue my dreams. I couldn’t be more excited for the future! pic.twitter.com/xIwtBfFzLr
