Star power: Dak Prescott appears on another Sports Illustrated cover

Dak Prescott was a star at Mississippi State, helping lead the Bulldogs to their first-ever No. 1 ranking in 2014 while throwing for 3,449 yards and 27 touchdowns and rushing for 14 more scores in a magical season in Starkville.

Now, he is the poster boy for the most valuable sports franchise in the United States, the Dallas Cowboys, and his stardom has shot up significantly since taking over the starting quarterback job as a rookie in 2016. Already appearing on the cover of the famed magazine Sports Illustrated three times — including twice while at State –, Prescott is this week’s face on the cover for the Money Issue.

It makes a lot of sense. A lot of talk surrounding Dak and the Cowboys this offseason has been about his contract, wondering where his value stands especially as the man under center for the AFC East team and his status among the top quarterbacks in the game.

“I have a great team, great agents, who are handling that,” Prescott says in the SI article. “My focus is all in on this team. [The deal] will get done in due time.”

Whatever the money the Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones deals out for the quarterback, you can be sure that it will be mind-blowing.
