Stetson Bennett’s impressive TD run gives Georgia the early lead over TCU

Georgia made a big statement on its 1st offensive drive Monday night in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

The Bulldogs marched 57 yards on 5 plays after its defense forced a 3-and-out from TCU.

Stetson Bennett capped the scoring drive with a 21-yard touchdown scamper to give his team the early 7-0 lead.

It was the 9th rushing touchdown of the season for Bennett and the 13th of his storied career.

The Bulldogs are looking to win their 2nd consecutive national title and cap off a 15-0 season.

Georgia entered the game as a nearly 2-touchdown favorite in its quest to repeat as national champions.
