Steve Sarkisian and Arch Manning apparently won’t be featured on the College Football 26 cover.

Why?

Because the Texas head coach and star quarterback-in-waiting weren’t even at the photo shoot back in March at the Rose Bowl, according to Inside Texas. Sarkisian revealed on Monday that neither he nor Manning were there with the rest of college football’s prominent players and coaches who are set to be a big part of the sport’s landscape in 2025.

Steve Sarkisian and Manning certainly quality as more than prominent enough to have been part of that photo shoot and part of that much-anticipated cover. But Sarkisian said while at the Touchdown Club of Houston that he and his starting quarterback decided not to go, for whatever reason.

The cover that won’t include Sarkisian or Manning was leaked online back in mid-March, giving college football fans starving for a peak at the cover a chance to do just that.

Back in January, when EA Sports announced that the popular video game would be released this summer, some options for the cover were bantered about. Naturally, Manning was not only on the list but at the top of the list of potential candidates.

But after Monday’s revelations, Manning won’t be part of the cover and neither will his high-profile head coach. Texas and college football fans who wanted Manning on the cover will just have to settle for the real thing as Manning finally takes over the starting quarterback job in Austin from Quinn Ewers.
