Steve Sarkisian is expected to garner interest from multiple NFL franchises this offseason, according to a report.

That news comes via Adam Schefter, who spoke about the possibility of Sarkisian making the jump to the NFL on Sunday morning.

“I would expect some teams to call and inquire about Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian, who is drawing some interest from the NFL level,” Schefter said.

His remarks on Sarkisian are brief and take place at the 5:28 mark in the video below:

Sarkisian is already Texas’s most decorate head coach since Mack Brown. He’s led the Longhorns to back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances and will play for a spot in the national championship game this week against Ohio State.

If Texas does lose Steve Sarkisian to the NFL, it would be a massive blow for a program that’s taken significant steps forward in recent years. Texas is 25-4 over the past 2 campaigns with at least one more game left to play this season.

Sarkisian does have some prior NFL experience. He was previously the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons for 2 seasons from 2017-18. He later left Atlanta to work for Nick Saban as Alabama’s offensive coordinator.

Sarkisian and the Longhorns will battle Ohio State at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Cotton Bowl.
