Some coaches have superstitions, odd habits or ways of doing things that simply aren’t common or traditional. But almost all of them release depth charts ahead of games that give a solid indication of who is going to see playing time and where each players stands in general.

Unless you’re Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian. According to a report from Anwar Richardson of Rivals.com, Sarkisian does not plan to release a depth chart ahead of the season-opener against Louisiana-Monroe and won’t release one ahead of any game this upcoming season, for that matter.

Richardson noted that “clearly things could change, but that’s Sarkisian’s plan for now.”

Of course, the game tape will show who is top dog at each position and things of that nature throughout the season but as to where specific players stand on any particular week of the season will be anyone’s guess.

“The reality is a lot of guys are going to play,” Sarkisian told the media. “… Whether guys are a 1 or a 2, the reality is they’re all going to play.”
