The LSU Tigers won their 47th consecutive regular season non-conference showdown Saturday by topping Sam Houston State 56-0. LSU head coach is now 37-0 in such games since arriving in Baton Rouge, and the Tigers will once again put the streak on the line when they Louisiana-Monroe next weekend.

Here are some other interesting streaks from around the SEC and the rest of the country:

  • Auburn had a 100-yard rusher for the eighth consecutive game, the longest streak in program history, and rushed for more than 200 yards as a team for the 13th straight game, the longest active streak among FBS schools.
  • Mississippi State’s streak of 31 straight sell-outs came to an end, closing the book on the longest streak in school history.
  • Missouri has now forced a turnover in 46 consecutive games dating back to the 2010 season after forcing two against Toledo on Saturday.
  • South Carolina won its 16th straight non-conference game, bowl games included, with a 33-23 win over East Carolina. Steve Spurrier also won his 200th career game at the collegiate level on Saturday.
  • Michigan was shut out for the first time in 376 games in its loss to Notre Dame, concluding the rivalry on a sour note for the foreseen future.
  • Florida State extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 18  games with a victory over the Citadel.
  • Stanford had its 17-game home win streak snapped in a 13-10 loss to PAC-12 rival USC.
