Tanner Allen is making the transition to professional baseball quite comfortably.
The former Mississippi State standout hit his first professional home run on Friday for the Jupiter Hammerheads. The homer tied the score at 4-4 and the Hammerheads would go on to beat the Palm Beach Cardinals 6-5.
Allen certainly showed off his power and versatility on the hit as the pitch was inside. Still, Tanner was able to turn on the ball and drive it to right field.
No. Doubt.@HailStateBB's Tanner Allen connects for his first professional home run and we are now tied at 4! #HammerDown

Allen’s statistics were incredible last season for national champion Mississippi State. He had a batting average of .383, an on-base percentage of .456 and a slugging percentage of .621. Those were all drastic increases from the 2020 season. They helped the outfielder become the 118th pick in the fourth round by the Miami Marlins.
Allen was the best player on the best team in the nation, and he’ll be beloved by Bulldogs fans forever.
