Though Texas A&M has finished 8-5 the past three seasons, the Aggies have gotten off to some great starts and are certainly enjoying a higher national profile since moving to the SEC.
However, not everyone thinks the school made the right move leaving the Big 12, including TCU AD Chris Del Conte.
Even though Del Conte’s Horned Frogs were only invited to the Big 12 when the Aggies left, he took a shot at A&M on KCTK’s The Musers radio program on Wednesday to say it was a mistake for the Aggies to jump to the SEC (via 247Sports):
“Thank God A&M decided to make a wrong error, [an] erroneous mistake,” Del Conte said. “They left, allowed us to get in. It’s [been] smooth sailing ever since.”
Later that day, Del Conte tweeted that he was only kidding, sending the following message to someone who called him out for the strong words:
Luke — good morning my friend no shade intended … without the move tcu might not of been given the opportunity.. hence my tung and cheek? https://t.co/Nuskie3rsd

For now, it seems both schools have improved their standings in the college football world, so Del Conte should thank the Aggies for opening a spot in the Big 12 for the Horned Frogs to slide into.
