Tennessee’s athletic department announced Tuesday morning the approval of a future renovation project for Neyland Stadium.
“The groundwork has been laid for proceeding with a much anticipated investment in Neyland Stadium,” said Dave Hart, Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics. “The study encompasses all the essential elements to ensure that Neyland Stadium remains a preeminent college football destination and experience for current fans and future generations alike.”
The plan expedites safety considerations and preserves the heritage and identity of Neyland Stadium while modernizing and enhancing certain aspects of the iconic venue.

“When people think about Tennessee football, they think about Neyland Stadium,” Hard said. “The tangible care and attention given towards this Knoxville landmark is critical in maintaining a special environment and the significant impact that Neyland Stadium has on our football program, University and entire Volunteer community.
“On behalf of UT Athletics, I express our appreciation of the board’s support for this important, and ultimately imperative, decision to redirect our financial resources back into Neyland Stadium,” he added. “The highly competitive nature of the SEC requires timely and dedicated action to achieve and sustain success. A major renovation to the stadium will enable us to reach these goals.”

- South Field Wall Relocation
- South Field Level Membership Club
- West Lower Bowl Chairback Seats
- West Field Club
- Visitor’s Locker Room
- Upper Bowl Handrail Addition & Aisle Expansion
- South Level 00 Kitchen & Commissary
- Phase 01 Utilities
Phase 02 includes:
- East & Northeast Concourse 01 Expansion & Renovation
- South, East & North Concourse 02 Expansion & Renovation
- Halftime Meeting Room, Player Recruit Lounge & New Letter Winner’s Lounge
- East Level 00 Utility, Maintenance, Cheerleading, Band & Gameday Operations
- Southwest Suites at Concourse 02
- Ledge Seating at Concourse 02
- Southeast Entry
- Southwest Entry
Phase 03 includes:
- Concourse 03 East & South Expansion & Renovation
- Concourse 03 North Renovation
- New North & South videoboards
- Ribbon Board along facade of Upper Bowl
- Full Bowl Sound System
- Bowl and Stadium WiFi, IT spaces renovated
- Northeast Ramp Cladding
- Completion of Southeast & Southwest Plazas
