Tennessee defender, who started 10 games in 2023, reportedly enters transfer portal
Tennessee is down another member of its secondary as Wesley Walker is now in the portal, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz on Friday.
There has been a mass exodus from Tennessee in the secondary upon the transfer portal’s opening. Tamarion McDonald, Doneiko Slaughter, De’Shawn Rucker, Jack Lutrell, Brandon Turnage, and Warren Burrell are some of the players at the position to have left the program via the portal.
Walker played in 23 games for the Volunteers over the last 2 seasons. He accounted for 89 total tackles, 2 sacks, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble with Tennessee.

Walker began his career at Georgia Tech from 2019-2021 before Tennessee.
While plenty of former players in the secondary have left Rocky Top, there have been a couple of new additions, however. Former Oregon State corner Jermod McCoy committed to Tennessee on Wednesday. Former MTSU DB was Jakobe Thomas originally committed to Oregon State, but later flipped to the Vols on Saturday.
Walker was a former 3-star prospect out of Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth. Tennessee has DBs Kaleb Beasley, Boo Carter, and Edrees Farooq as signees from the 2024 class.
