Tennessee fans confused by prodigal son Peyton Manning’s visit to Texas

Peyton Manning visited the Texas Longhorns’ football practice Thursday and #VolTwitter had mixed reactions.
There is a bit of an underlying rivalry between Tennessee and Texas, at least on Twitter, in regards to which school is “the real UT.”
The University of Texas, of course, refers to itself as UT. Tennessee, which was founded first in 1794, has several fans who claim it is the only “real UT.” Texas was founded in 1881.
It’s worth noting that the University of Turin in Italy was founded in 1404, but never mind that.
Tennessee fans also typically enjoy pointing out that Texas would not exist as a state if it weren’t for the volunteers from Tennessee who helped Texas break free from Mexico in the 1800s.
Check out these responses from Tennessee fans:
This is trash. You’re better than this, Peyton.
Texas has their own guy(s)- Vince Young (LOL), Colt McCoy (LOL) https://t.co/1dmhTwWM2l
