Tennessee legend Johnny Majors on Lane Kiffin: ‘He would win if he comes back’

Legendary Tennessee coach Johnny Majors led the Tennessee Volunteers to three SEC championships during his time as head coach, so what he says carries a lot of weight in Knoxville.
And now, according to a reporter who heard him speak at the Knoxville QB Club on Monday, Majors thinks another former Tennessee coach — Lane Kiffin — could be the answer for the Vols.
According to reporter Kelly Reinke, Majors said Kiffin could win at Tennessee if he decided to return to Knoxville:

Kiffin, who is never too far from Twitter, saw that tweet and responded, sharing his respect for Majors:
Love Coach Majors! Invited him to our first ever practice at UT. First time he had been around in years. Smh. #halloffame https://t.co/vjPsHcjWff

Before the debacle with Greg Schiano, there was no way Tennessee fans would have gotten behind Kiffin returning to Knoxville, but now anything is possible.
Kiffin will be coaching Florida Atlantic this weekend in the Conference USA championship game, but it is possible he could get a call from the Vols if the search continues to drag on over the coming days.
