Tennessee reportedly loses offensive lineman to transfer portal after 2 seasons
Tennessee is losing some offensive line depth to the transfer portal, according to a report.
Reserve lineman Ayden Bussell is headed to the portal, per VolQuest. Bussell spent 2 seasons in Knoxville but saw very limited action for the Volunteers. He redshirted in 2023 and then played just 62 snaps as a redshirt freshman in 2024, per Pro Football Focus.
Bussell initially signed with Tennessee as a 3-star prospect back in the class of 2023. He was the No. 61 offensive tackle in the country for that cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Bussell was an in-state prospect as he attended Mount Juliet High School in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. He also had offers from programs like Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Boston College, Tulane and plenty more.
Bussell will have 3 years of eligibility at his next program. As for Tennessee, Bussell is the 4th player and the 1st offensive lineman to enter the portal since it re-opened for the spring window on Wednesday. Nico Iamaleava, John Slaughter and Christian Charles are the other Vols who are now in the portal.
Tennessee has not yet signed any transfers during the spring window, but that could change in the coming days.
