Tennessee tight end Miles Kitselman took to social media on Monday to announce that he will indeed return to Rocky Top for the 2025 season. He could have declared for the 2025 NFL Draft or transferred elsewhere, but will instead use his final year of eligibility at Tennessee.
Kitselman was easily the most productive TE on the Vols’ roster in 2024. The Alabama transfer caught 22 passes for 301 yards and 4 touchdowns during his first season with the Vols. Kitselman’s best game came against Kentucky when the TE caught 6 passes for 97 yards and 1 TD.
Keeping Kitselman around became important when fellow TEs Holden Staes and Charlie Browder entered the transfer portal. In addition, the Vols’ group of pass-catchers became even thinner when wide receivers Squirrel White, Nathan Leacock, Mike Matthews, and Chas Nimrod, among others, entered the portal.
Before coming to Tennessee, Kitselman was sparingly used at Alabama. He caught 2 passes for 18 yards in 2022 and then served as a reserve on special teams in 2023. In 2021, Kitselman played at Hutchinson Community College and caught 2 passes for 16 yards and 1 TD.
In 2025, Kitselman will likely split time at the position with Ethan Davis. The Vols finished with the No. 73 passing offense in the country in 2024, but had the No. 17 total offense thanks to an elite ground game. Kitselman was impressive as a blocker as well, helping pave the way for Dylan Sampson to rush for 1,491 yards and 22 TDs.
