Everything about the Battle at Bristol was big — including the payout.

According to a report from the Associated Press, Tennessee and Virginia Tech are both guaranteed $4 million dollars for selling more than 40,000 tickets to the game apiece. Because the grandstand seats sold out as well, each school may also get an extra $30,000 on top of that.

An NCAA-record crowd of 156,990 attended the highly anticipated contest, which the Volunteers won 45-24 inside Bristol Motor Speedway. Needless to say, the trip was well worth it for both the school and fans of Tennessee football.
