Tennessee is doing something out of the ordinary in the midst of the NIL era. Now, the Vols’ collective is launching their own media network, which will be under the name of Rock Media.

It’s free access to multiple platforms including X, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok and Facebook. The mission has to do with providing content to the fans that does not have a paywall, something that many consumers have complained about in the modern era of journalism.

Adam Breneman, who has had substantial success both in the traditional media network and as a content creator on his own, will be among the headers of the effort. Breneman is The College Sports Company co-founder and met with The Volunteer Club earlier in the year before settling on a deal.

“Our belief is going direct to consumer. We [The College Sports Company] don’t believe in paywalled content. The upside is just too minimal.” Breneman said per Sports Business Journal. “We want this to be where fans go for content and to get to know the players better and where brands can get access to athletes to sell their products and services.”

There will be a large amount off exclusive content, including multiple podcasts and interviews with current and former athletes.

Breneman is also closely partnered with Penn State, South Carolina and Louisville. Oklahoma will also soon be added to the list.
