Texas A&M will enter its showdown next Saturday against Alabama ranked No. 9 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, which was released Sunday.

The Aggies (5-0), who had a bye week Saturday, were No. 9 last week as well.

The Aggies also moved up one spot to No. 10 in the Coaches poll.

Texas A&M was the third SEC team in the AP top 10, behind LSU and Alabama.

These next two weeks likely will determine whether the Aggies will be part of the Final Four picture or a potential spoiler later in the season. After hosting Alabama, which slipped to No. 10, they travel to No. 13 Ole Miss. Win those two, and the schedule softens before the season-ending road trip to Baton Rouge to face Heisman Trophy front-runner Leonard Fournette and the LSU Tigers.
