Victor Singleton has changed his mind about where to play college football.

In February, Singleton verbally committed to play for Illinois. On Saturday, however, he announced that he has a new home. Texas A&M successfully flipped Singleton, adding the blue-chip defensive back to its 2026 recruiting class.

Singleton shared the big news with Hayes Fawcett of On3.

Out of Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic High School, Singleton is listed as measuring 5-11 and 160 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Singleton is rated 4-stars, the No. 2 player in the state of Ohio, No. 11 cornerback and No. 84 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.

As one would expect, Singleton’s talent attracted a wide range of interest. Illinois and Texas A&M are far from the only programs to recruit Singleton, who has picked up 29 scholarship offers during his recruitment. Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi State, Michigan State, Iowa, Mizzou, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Oregon and Tennessee are among the other programs that showed interest in Singleton.

With Singleton on board, Mike Elko‘s staff now has 10 verbal commitments in Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class. Fans can get a preview of what Singleton brings to Aggieland by watching his highlights in the video below, via Hudl:
