Texas A&M hoped to use the transfer portal this spring and summer to add depth along the offensive line. So far, so good.
On Wednesday, the Aggies added former Boston College offensive lineman Finn Dirstine. The 6-foot-4, 316-pound Dirstine is a sixth-year grad transfer with 1 remaining season of eligibility.

A native of Acton, Massachusetts, Dirstine spent his first 5 seasons close to home. He took a redshirt his first year on campus and then filled in as a reserve guard in each of the next 3 seasons, spending time on both sides of the line.
In 2022, Dirstine stepped into a starting role and drew starts at left guard in each of Boston College’s first 4 games. A shoulder injury suffered in Week 4 knocked him out for the rest of the year.
He was a 4-star recruit coming out of high school and ranked as the No. 13 offensive guard prospect in his class by the industry-generated 247 Composite. He was also viewed as the top player from the state of Massachusetts.
Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
