Texas A&M LB enters transfer portal with 2 remaining years of eligibility

Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher saw his linebacker room depth diminished slightly on Tuesday, as Tarian Lee Jr. has entered the transfer portal, according to On3’s Matt Zenitz.

In 2 seasons in College Station, Lee posted only 17 tackles for the Aggies.
The 6-2, 235-pound Lee still has 2 years of eligibility left after a redshirt year in 2019 and having COVID relief status during the shortened 2020 season.
Lee only saw action in 7 games this season, and the last game he recorded a tackle in was in the Oct. 22 contest against South Carolina.
He had a season-high 4 tackles in the Aggies’ stunning Week 2 loss to Appalachian State.
Lee failed to record a sack in either of his 2 seasons in College Station.
The Tallahassee, Florida, product had just 8 tackles in 2021 despite appearing in all 12 games, and he’ll have a shot to compete for a starting position wherever he lands next fall.
Lee leaves an Aggies roster that was already depleted at the linebacker position.
