Texas A&M has made the call on its starting quarterback against Mississippi State.
The Aggies will go with Jaylen Henderson, a Fresno State transfer, who will make his first start for the Aggies, Pete Thamel of ESPN reported.
Max Johnson, who has a rib injury, will not make the start. So this would be the 3rd quarterback for the Aggies to start this season after Conner Weigman suffered a season-ending injury.
On Wednesday, Fisher offered this update on Johnson: “Yeah. He’s practicing. They’re at practice and doing what we need to do.”

Johnson suffered the injury last week in a loss to Ole Miss. Despite the apparent injury, Johnson stayed in for the entire game, and passed for 305 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
