Texas A&M tight end Tre Watson is headed to the 2025 NFL Draft as many players have at the conclusion of the 2024 season. It is a decision that many were split in reaction to, though based on what he was able to accomplish in his career at Fresno State, was not exactly a huge surprise.

Watson concluded the 2024 season at Texas A&M with 21 receptions for 280 yards with an average of 13.3 yards per reception and 1 touchdown. It was not at all his largest season after for his career, most which was spent with the Bulldogs of California.

Over 4 seasons, Watson caught 77 passes for 872 yards and 5 touchdowns over 4 seasons. Looking back on his career, Watson clocked 10 receptions for 134 yards in 2021 as a true freshman. His next year during his sophomore campaign in 2022 was not quite as lucrative as he snagged 8 catches for 80 yards. His breakout year came as a junior, when he logged 38 catches for 378 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2023.

While he was not exactly able to transfer over from conference to conference, there is hope that he will get things done the way he wants to at the next level. It will be something to watch in terms of what April holds for him as a possible dark horse player.
