Texas A&M basketball is in the middle of a strong season in the ultra-elite SEC and is inside the top 10 nationally on the AP Poll. However, the Aggies took one unexpected L on social media Friday.

That loss came when Texas A&M took to X (formerly Twitter) to unveil a brand-new alternate uniform. It’s a unique look, to say the least, but one that was not well-received across the platform.

For starters, it’s an all-grey look for the Aggies which features white and maroon accents — but in an unusual way. Instead of a centered school or mascot name and number, the uniform splits the front emblems.

A maroon “T” is the emblem on the right front chest while the left midriff area features a white number. The side panels feature white, maroon and grey accents, but it is likely the un-even front of the uniform that creates some unpleasant reactions on social media.

It’s not immediately clear when the Aggies will break out these new threads on the court. If it’s this weekend, that will be a home game against Arkansas and new head coach John Calipari with Saturday’s tip-off set for 12 pm ET on ESPN. A&M is on a 4-game winning streak and is 2 games back from the SEC-leading teams, Alabama and Auburn, entering the weekend.
