Texas coach Steve Sarkisian has been able to bring in top talent to Austin as soon as he became the coach. Whether it is through the transfer portal or bringing in high school talent, the Longhorns bring in talented players every season. That figures to be the case in 2028, as the Longhorns have made the final cut for 5-star offensive lineman Austin Attalah, who announced his final five schools.

Joining the Longhorns on Attalah’s final 3 teams are USC and Texas Tech. Attalah is one of the very best prospects in the country, as he is the No. 27 player in the 2028 class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is the No. 1 player in California and the No. 3 offensive lineman prospect in the class. He has offers from other major teams, including Alabama, Michigan, and Ohio State, among others.

Texas currently has one player committed in the 2028 class in quarterback Neimann Lawrence.

The Longhorns are hitting the recruiting trail hard the rest of August before they start what they hope is a run in both the SEC and the College Football Playoff. Texas opens the season at home against Texas State on Sept. 5.
