Texas A&M graduate transfer DB Nick Harvey, target of 3 SEC programs, sets decision date
One of three SEC teams looking to add a veteran defensive back with experience playing in the nation’s toughest conference could be getting some good news on May 11. That’s the date Nick Harvey has set to announce his next destination following his departure from the Texas A&M football program in early March.
Following his decision to leave College Station, Harvey has visited Auburn, South Carolina, and Tennessee in the SEC with an additional trip to Tucson to visit Arizona.
Harvey plans to take advantage of the graduate transfer rule and will be eligible immediately at his next destination for the final season of his collegiate career. Harvey missed the entire 2017 season after suffering an injury to his knee in the offseason. He officially took a redshirt season and will arrive at his final stop as a redshirt senior.
The former Aggie started 13 games for A&M during his career and played extensively as a backup during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He was a U.S. Army All-American coming out of high school.
News of Harvey’s decision date was first reported by ESPN college football writer Adam Rittenberg:
Former Texas A&M CB Nick Harvey, a graduate transfer, has taken visits to #Auburn, #SouthCarolina, #Arizona and #Tennessee. Tells me he will decide May 11, his graduation date from TAMU. Will spend the next few weeks discussing his options with his family.
