Another week and another Texas high school player had his hands on a referee.
Obviously, this one isn’t as harsh as last week’s vicious and coordinated attack on the referee, but nonetheless, another San Antonio area player took his frustration and anger out on an official.
When a scrum broke out during the St. Anthony High School and Austin Hyde Park game, St. Anthony senior Zeke Cardenas responded to a penalty flag by shoving the official. However, with such attention given to the coordinated attack last week, it’s surprising and quite shocking to see a high school player in the same area push the referee. Cardenas was ejected from the game.
