Texas lands transfer commitment from standout UTSA edge rusher

Texas padded its pass rush with the likes of former UTSA edge rusher Trey Moore on Saturday.

Moore was the 2023 AAC Defensive Player of the Year. He led the Roadrunners with 14 sacks and also accounted for 45 total tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 forced fumble this season. Moore played in 29 games over the last 3 seasons in San Antonio.

The Longhorns have a solid 2024 class on the way as they prepare for their 1st season in the SEC. Texas has the No. 3 overall ranked class in the country, per 247Sports.

Other notable transfers to Texas include former Clemson safety Andrew Mukuba and former Houston wideout Matthew Golden. Texas has 3-star edge rusher signee Zina Umeozulu in its 2024 class as well.

The Longhorns are preparing for their College Football Playoff matchup with Washington as well as their 1st season in the SEC next year. The Sugar Bowl will be on New Year’s Day with an 8:45 p.m. ET kickoff on ESPN.
