There’s something to be said about any academic institution.

The pageantry, grades, sports programs, partying, and experiences to new things are all integral pillars of the college experience. Perhaps above everything is community. A college is a community of people from all backgrounds, races, and religious ideologies. It’s a place where people can come together and exchange ideals in beautiful fashion.

It’s also a place where people help one another out.

Shelby Smith is an 18-year-old student currently attending Texas A&M. She recently found out she has a rare cancer called olfactory neuroblastoma. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with Smith’s medical expenses. To date, over $58,000 has been raised.

Upon hearing of Smith’s story, Texas A&M signal-caller Trevor Knight tweeted about the situation — whilst offering a positive reminder to all of those involved in the A&M community.
