Texas A&M is taking its game against New Mexico State to rest a few key players.

The three defensive starters will sit out for health reasons, according to Brent Zwerneman of The Houston Chronicle.  Defensive end Myles Garrett has been dealing with a leg injury since September, safety Armani Watts was seen with a boot on his left ankle and cornerback Priest Willis’ injury status is unknown.

No. 9 Texas A&M (6-1) likely won’t need their three defensive playmakers against New Mexico State (2-5), which is tied for 87th among FBS teams in scoring offense with just 25.9 points per game. The teams will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET today on ESPNU.
