Alabama football frequently finds itself in the College Football Playoff every year, but that was not the case as Alabama finished the season with 2 losses.

The teams who did make it into the College Football Playoff this year were Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State and TCU. College football analyst Tim Brando was impressed by the way the committee did not “cower to brands” in a way that some were concerned they would do after Saturday.

“Surprised the @CFBPlayoff Committee didn’t cower to brands by allowing @AlabamaFTBL in,” he tweeted. “@OhioStateFB only lost once, yeah it was a blowout but they had a better resume than the 2 loss Tide. Better overall wins. @TCUFootball can beat @UMichFootball imo. Georgia/Ohio St. a monster!”

Alabama will await its bowl destination up next in what should still be a prestigious game, just not the type of contest we’ve grown to expect Alabama to be in over recent history.
