Tim Tebow explains why he never changed positions in football

Before his college career even ended, fans and commentators pondered which position would be the best fit for Tim Tebow in the NFL.
It’s no surprise to learn that NFL teams had the same thoughts as many casual observers: Tebow could have potentially been a fullback or tight end in the pros.
The former Gators quarterback told Dan Patrick he had opportunities to play other positions in the NFL, but he was only interested in being a quarterback.
“For me it’s always about pursuing what’s in your heart, what you love, what you’re passionate about, and I love the game of football but what I really love doing is playing the quarterback position,” Tebow said on The Dan Patrick Show. “I’ve had a lot of good opportunities to play another position but that just wasn’t in my heart. It wasn’t something I wanted to do. If I was going to make a change I’d rather make a change to baseball.”
That change to baseball has resulted in a minor-league deal with the New York Mets organization. Despite having signed with the Mets, Tebow will continue as an analyst and host this fall with the SEC Network.
