Former Florida Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow has said that Matt Corral has the chance to play a big role in slowing down Alabama.

Tebow offered these thoughts ahead of Ole Miss’ game at Alabama on Saturday afternoon.

“This dude is playing unbelievable,” Tebow said on ESPN’s “First Take” on Friday morning. “The last 3 Heisman Trophy winners from the SEC, Cam Newton, Johnny Manziel, Joe Burrow. Every single one of them went on the road to beat Alabama that kind of put that little notch in their Heisman belt. Could Matt Corral do the same? I think right now he’s the best player in college football. So far he’s had the best season, and it’s not one-dimensional. He does it with his arm, he does it with his legs, he does it with his scheme, he does it getting in and out of plays. And yes, I want to give Jeff Lebby and Lane Kiffin a lot of credit, they do an unbelievable job, I think it’s the best offense in the country right now.”

He also gave Corral a lot of credit for the way he runs the Ole Miss offense.

“Matt Corral runs it to perfection, and by the way, when we’re talking next level, I think this kid has a really, really bright future at the next level, I think he’ll have a chance to be one of the top picks next year,” said Tebow. “What do you need to be able to knock off Alabama? Unbelievable quarterback play. Not just in the pocket, but athletically to be able to do all of it.”

It’ll be interesting to see how Corral reacts to the Alabama defense on Saturday.
