Todd Golden had a positive update on star big man Alex Condon to begin the week.

Last week, the head coach for Florida listed Condon as likely 10-14 days away from being ready to return to the court. But on Monday, Golden said Condon is on track to make his return to action on Tuesday against Georgia if there are no setbacks with his ankle injury.

Condon earned a questionable designation for this past weekend’s game vs. LSU but did not play, a sign he was progressing better than expected. Sam Alexis was still firmly out over the weekend, so his return is not on the same timetable as Condon’s it would appear.

Prior to missing the last 3 games, Condon had appeared in all 24 contests for Florida, and he has been integral for the No. 3 team in the country on the latest AP Poll. He is the 4th-leading scorer for the Gators at 10.6 points per game and leads the team with 7.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.

Getting Condon back is especially crucial with the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament looming and a tough 4-game stretch to end the year. Florida travels to face Georgia on Tuesday and will also face Texas A&M, Alabama and Ole Miss to end the year.
